In 2013, the cooperative began to specialize in the cultivation, drying and sale of medicinal herbs and in the same year began to supply its products (dried valerian roots) to Germany. Having received the first experience in organic production, the cooperative began to gradually expand its activities.
In 2016, with the financial support of GIZ and the organizational support of the Bioservice Public Foundation, organic certification of land allotments for members of the cooperative was carried out in 3 districts of Issyk-Kul oblast: Ak-Suy, Tyup and Jeti-Oguz districts. Today, more than 220 members of the cooperative have gained knowledge in the field of organic farming and are the only farmers in the Issyk-Kul region engaged in organic crop production. .
The uniqueness of our products lies in the fact that the land plots of our cooperative farmers are located in an ideal region for growing organic products. Alpine air, especially the climatic conditions of the Issyk-Kul region make it possible to grow different types of environmentally friendly crop products and medicinal plants with a high content of biologically active substances. Laboratory analyzes of medicinal herbs grown by the Issyk-Kol Organika cooperative show that the extract content of herbs exceeds 130% compared to herbs from other countries and the chemical content in herbs is 0%.
Cooperative farmers grow the following types of organic crops:
Valerian;
Peppermint;
Calendula;
Potatoes, vegetables;
Garlic;
Apples
Currant;
Raspberries and strawberries;
Perennial herbs;
Mixed gardens;
Pear;
Other cultures;
In addition to the above crops, the cooperative has the opportunity to grow any other culture of medicinal herbs, vegetables and fruits, by order of the buyer. And also, organize the collection and harvesting of wild herbs and berries that grow in the Issyk-Kul region.
Since 2017, it is planned to pilot production of various varieties of organic beans, as well as pre-sale sorting and packaging of medicinal herbs and beans for retail.
