Novoladozhsky shipyard was founded in 1940 on the basis of repair shops as a ship repair base for the towing fleet.
During the Great Patriotic War, the Novoladozh Shipyard became the only ship repair company that repaired the vessels of the North-Western Shipping Company and the ships of the Ladoga Naval Flotilla.
In the postwar years, the task fell on the shoulders of factory workers not only to restore military and civilian ships, but also to build residential buildings.
During the period from 1946 to 1960, more than 60 residential one and two-story houses were built, workshops were erected: locksmith, cabinet, woodworking, foundry, the Petrovsky Canal section was reconstructed into a dry dock. The lack of workers forced us to create a federal vocational education institution and then a vocational school on the basis of the factory. In addition to ship repair work, the shipyard began construction of new vessels of various types and purposes, from non-self-propelled barges to large-capacity river-sea tankers. In the same period, the plant does not forget about the social problems of workers: a kindergarten, a school, a college dormitory, a canteen, and apartment buildings were built.
Currently, the Novoladozh Shipyard is experiencing its second birth: after many years of stagnation, lack of money and bankruptcy, the ship began to build and repair ships. Wikipedia
