Sverdlovsk Tool Plant offers equipment and tools for the complex solution of production problems of any enterprise, produces a unique cutting tool, including complex cutting.
In 2014, Production Complex No. 2 was organized on the territory of the enterprise, which is equipped with modern high-tech progressive and multifunctional equipment, which ensures the production of molds and dies with high accuracy.

Sverdlovsk Tool Plant also produces carbide tools on new modern equipment that allows the production of mills, special and general purpose, drill, countersink. Such products from heavy-duty alloys improve the quality of work on machines, as well as reduce energy consumption. To date, analogues of this tool come to the Russian market from abroad. The advantage of our domestic carbide tools is their competitive price compared to imported ones. Test results confirm their excellent quality and durability.
Our company produces on its own equipment bimetallic band saws of various sizes, which are perfect for working with carbon and low-carbon steel, non-ferrous metal alloys, tool and bearing steel, mild and high alloy steel, etc.
Sverdlovsk Instrument Plant OJSC is a machining center in Yekaterinburg that has specialized in the production of complex cutting tools for many years: various types of broaches, modular worm mills, cutters, shavers, gear cutting heads, mounted mills, taps, as well as other types of metal cutting tools.
Thanks to the exceptional experience of the staff, decades of proven technology and unique equipment, our machining center produces high-precision high-quality metal-cutting tools that have a deservedly high reputation among consumers. In fact, every second consumer of cutting tools in Russia uses tools with our brand.
In the manufacturing process, we use high-quality quick cutting and tool steel of leading domestic metallurgical enterprises (OJSC Elektrostal, OJSC Mechel, OJSC Izhstal), as well as foreign suppliers (Böhler-Uddeholm, Austria and Erasteel, France). All purchased metal undergoes one hundred percent input control, which is one of the most important factors ensuring high performance characteristics of metal cutting tools. We are ready to provide import substitution for most large enterprises in the field of engineering, metalworking and machine tool construction.
The customers of our plant are almost all large engineering enterprises in the former republics of the USSR, including defense, oil and gas, automobile, aviation, agricultural, machine-tool and other key industries. The metal cutting tool we made in Yekaterinburg has served its owners with dignity for many years.

Factory History
On November 14, 1941, a resolution was signed by the USSR State Defense Committee on the creation in Sverdlovsk of an instrumental plant of the People’s Commissariat for Agricultural Engineering (NKSM).
The backbone of the enterprise was made up of highly skilled workers and engineers of the country's first Moscow tool factory. It was located in the main building of the Ural Polytechnic Institute and produced a complex cutting and measuring tool.
In 1947, it was combined with the plant number 73 of the People’s Commissariat of Ammunition (NKB), which was created during the war on the basis of evacuated factories from Moscow, Gomel, Kiev, Leningrad. Plant number 73 specialized in the production of shells for Katyusha rocket launchers. For the successful completion of the tasks of the State Defense Committee, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1946.
The newly created factory became known as the "Sverdlovsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor Tool Factory" and entered the system of the USSR Ministry of Machine Tool Industry.

1946 | On May 15, workers and employees of the Sverdlovsk Tool Plant were awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War". |
1947 | Two plants are combined: No. 73 and the Sverdlovsk Instrumental. The plant began to be called the Sverdlovsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor Tool Factory of the USSR Ministry of Machine Tool. |
1949 | Grinder workshop broaches Kuznechenkov made an initiative on the organization of Stakhanov schools of excellent quality. |
1957 | The plant became subordinate to the Engineering Department of the Sverdlovsk National Economy Council. |
1958 | A movement began for the title of drummers and brigades of communist labor. |
1962 | To manage the scientific organization of labor, a NOT laboratory was created. |
1964 | The first general reconstruction of the plant began. |
1968 | Workers of broaches took the initiative to announce from January 12 to April 22, 1970 "One hundred shock Leninist days." |
1973 | On November 14, the factory’s labor glory museum was opened. |
1974 | The first reconstruction of the plant is completed. The first stage of the ACS-SIZ was delivered. The volume of products increased by 3.5 times. |

1983 | On July 26, 100 medals and a diploma of the first degree of the VDNH of the USSR were received for the manufacture of high-precision tools and the introduction of advanced technologies |
1982 | In honor of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Sverdlovsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the tool factory, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, he was named after the 60th anniversary of the founding of the USSR. |
1984 | By a joint decree of the USSR Ministry of Machine-Tool and Tool Industry and the Central Committee of the Union of Machine-Building and Instrument-Making Workers, the Sverdlovsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor awarded the honorary title “Enterprise of High Production Culture”. |
