The Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia - a voluntary, public, non-profit organization - was founded in 1997 with the aim of consolidating efforts to overcome the crisis in the furniture and woodworking industry and creating the necessary conditions for its rise in market conditions.
Association is a tool for dialogue between the state and the industry, helping to make informed, informed decisions at the state level.
Members of the Association are enterprises that produce more than 50% of furniture and particle boards in Russia, manufacturers and suppliers of components for the furniture industry, industrial research institutes and publishing houses, exhibition associations and insurance companies.
The President of the Association is the General Director of CJSC First Furniture Factory Shestakov Alexander Nikolaevich.
To address industry-wide issues, the Association successfully interacts with ministries and departments, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and is the industry coordinator for Russia's accession to the WTO.
Successful work of domestic furniture companies largely depends on the balance of the domestic market. Our reasoned proposals on the levels of import customs duties for the furniture industry consist in the maximum reduction in import duties on raw materials, materials, components and equipment not manufactured by Russian industry or whose quality does not meet international standards. In addition, it is necessary to maintain a sufficient level of import customs duties on finished furniture for buyers with middle and lower average incomes, i.e. in the niche in which most Russian enterprises operate.
We are convinced that customs tariffs, both in furniture and in any other branch of the Russian economy, should help to ensure that not finished products are imported into Russia, but new technologies, modern materials and components are attracted, and investments are attracted.
The Association conducts continuous monitoring and analysis of the situation in the furniture industry in Russia, reviews and forecasts for the development of the Russian and world furniture markets are compiled, and methodological and technical assistance is provided to enterprises in solving urgent problems.
The activities of the Association are open, the results of the Association are in demand by all participants in the furniture market.
