The Crimean experimental selection station was established in 1935. Today it is one of the leading scientific institutions for the creation of varieties of vegetable and fruit crops. Priority areas of the research activities of the station: - conservation of the global genetic resources of fruit, berries, vegetables, legumes and grapes; - selection based on monitoring genotypes with valuable signs (donors and sources); - creation and introduction into production of new highly productive varieties and hybrids of vegetable, fruit and berry crops of intensive type that meet the requirements of industrial technology; - production of original seeds of zoned and promising varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops; production of virus-free planting material for fruit and berry crops; - the provision of scientific and methodological assistance to agricultural production.
