The birth date of Mirex Company is officially considered April 1, 2003. It should be noted that CD-R products under the MIREX trademark appeared on the Russian market three years earlier. At that time, no one believed in the success of the Russian production of recordable discs: the entire market segment was completely controlled by foreign vendors, and huge investments were required to start a new business. However, in 2000 in Yekaterinburg, in the Ural Electronic Plant - the first and so far the largest Russian CD-production, which specializes in replicating CDs, has been launched production of "pure" optical storage. The CD-R department of the Ural Electronic Plant promoted its products on the Russian market under the MIREX trademark.

Since 2006, Mirex has begun developing a project for semiconductor media (SD, MMC, CF memory cards) and is launching the first series. In 2011, having entered into an OEM agreement with the world leader in the manufacture of controllers, PHISON Corporation, Mirex introduced to the market a completely new line of flash storage media, which includes USB-drives and memory cards with the most popular properties and optimal for consumers work with technical indicators.
