What “we” are about … We say that things themselves are not important, and only the feeling that they give is important.
The first thing that comes to your mind when you see the OVER the SEA name is, of course, a connection to the sea, many ask, whether we are from Odessa. No, we are not. Although the sea has been instrumental in creating the brand, but still the brand is more about the sea that rages within every woman, her soul. The sea, which each of us tries to keep, living in a huge city.
Our dresses are sensual and romantic.
Our “features”. A feature of each brand lies in its vision of the world. A brand is not an attempt to be better than someone else, but rather to create your own bright and colourful world, which will be of interest to people. We have our own spirit of freedom, lightness, ease. We believe that the sea is very similar to a woman in that sense – it could be also as much different – now impulsive, then quiet. A lady can work hard, be an authority, lead, make difficult decisions for the whole day, and then come to us and we will help her to forget about the difficulties of the day, pick up a light and airy dress.
We like to assign a particular mood to each dress; each dress has its own name and its own story. It is important that it was not just a “trapezoid dress cotton No.7”, and some line of life. For example, Only-Love-Can-Hurt-Like-This.
Our fabrics. We use only high quality fabrics regardless of the composition. Approximately 50-60% are natural ones, and the rest are blended. We like it when the fabric is nice by touch, and a good producer is also important for us. We use Italian, French fabrics. There are evening dresses, which combine viscose with silk and polyester. Viscose cannot be called natural, because it is a natural fibre treated synthetically.
It is believed that artificial fabrics are bad, but we do not agree thereto, because there is a huge selection of high quality synthetic fabrics, moreover, many well-known brands use blended fabrics. Furthermore, the use of blended fabrics allows making the product more affordable.
We like silk, staple, linen a lot. Especially, silk. But we faced the fact that often people need to be told how to wear it. There were a few cases where we realized that a person bought an expensive silk dress, but did not know that it required special care. There are good reasons why it is called “the fabric of the emperors”. You should have a dialogue with a dress, and then it will last a long time.
