Raw material Synthetic Natural Rubber Trans-1,4-Polyisoprene (TPI) Cas No.9000-32-2
Product description
▪ Trans-1,4-polyisoprene (TPI)- Known as synthetic balata rubber, shares the same structure and properties as natural gutta-percha and balata. The monomer used to synthesize this polymer is isoprene. TPI has the exact same chemical composition (C₅H₈)ₙ as cis-1,4-polyisoprene (CPI) or natural rubber (NR). However, due to their opposite molecular chain configurations—NR being cis-1,4 structured and remaining a soft elastomer at room temperature, while TPI is trans-1,4 structured—TPI crystallizes rapidly below 60°C, forming folded chains. This results in a crystalline polymer with high hardness and tensile strength. ▪ Specificaiton: TPI-40,60,80 ▪ Form: Granule, Powder.
